Frequently asked questions

The camera screen is black or nothing is detected.

Open Settings → ScanMe and make sure Camera access is allowed. If it is, close the app completely and reopen it. Very dark scenes or a dirty lens also stop detection — try the flashlight button in the app.

Which barcodes are supported?

QR codes plus EAN-8, EAN-13, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 39, Code 93, Code 128, ITF, Codabar, PDF417, Aztec and Data Matrix.

Are there sample codes to try the app with?

Yes. The sample codes page has QR codes and barcodes for the most common types — links, Wi-Fi, contacts, e-mail, SMS, phone numbers, locations, events, products and books.

Where are my scans stored?

On your device only. ScanMe works offline and never uploads what you scan or create. Deleting the app deletes its history with it.

How do I get a QR code image or a scanned PDF out of the app?

Everything you save is listed in History. Open the item and tap Share, then choose “Save Image” (Photos), “Save to Files” or any app you want to send it to.

Document scanning does not start.

The document scanner needs camera access and a device that supports it. If the button does nothing, check camera permission first, then restart the app.

Do you collect any personal data?

No. There is no advertising SDK, no analytics and no account. See the privacy policy.

How do I report a bug or request a feature?

Email us at a.kilincarslan97@gmail.com. Telling us your iPhone model, iOS version and what you were scanning helps a lot.
